One Piece 598: 2 Years Later

Seems like all the Straw Hats have gathered at Sabaody, though they haven't exactly reunited. We have yet to see Zoro and Franky. Just a brief run-through, Luffy leaves for Sabaody, bidding farewell to Hancock. Seems like he ended up finishing his training, which would include Haki, half a year earlier. He also made some friends with his food supply. Everyone else seems also to have grown up in one way or another. I'll do a comparison of appearance towards the end of the post, so stay tuned.

Not much things happen, Usopp reunites with Nami, both looking a lot stronger, gets into an argument with the Fake Straw Hats, and flees the area. Chopper still looks innocent, thinking that he Sanji, Zoro and Robin of the Fake Straw Hats are actually his nakama. Well, that's a given, since people do change after 2 years. And given the fact that the Crew has been apart longer than it has been together. Robin seems to be followed, though it is the fake Robin that was captured. Something tells me that she did something with the Revolutionary Army during the course of two years. Sanji seems to be in paradise after leaving in "hell" for 2 years. He gives the "finger" to the okamas.

Also, it's interesting to see that the Fake Straw Hats are opposites of their counterpart. Fake Luffy is cruel, fat, and definitely not stretchable. Fake Nami is ugly and wide. Fake Franky is er...slim. Fake Sogeking is huge. Fake Robin is short, real short. The two that remotely resembles their counterparts are Fake Sanji and Fake Zoro, and that's not saying much, because it is really, really remote. Fake Chopper is a fox. lolz.

Seems like Marine HQ has switch places under the orders of the new Fleet Admiral, which i think is someone new. Though Aokiji might also be likely. I sure do not want Akainu to be a new Fleet Admiral, that guy reeks of trouble to the Straw Hats.

New Looks

Luffy - doesnt look that much different. A scar on his chest, i think it was caused by Akainu. Not sure though.

Zoro - not much here as well, a new scar on his right eye, mirroring Rayleigh's. Minor change to his hair. Probably symbolizes his status as the new "Dark King" of this crew.

Nami - quite a lot here. She has longer hair, which is curly at the bottom. Usually, I like this kind of hair. But, urgh, give me back the old Nami's hair. Looks like she either has a slimmer waist, or bigger breast, or maybe a combination of both. Her skills in controlling weather seems to have upgraded, no Clima-tact in sight.

 

 Usopp - also a big difference here. Seems like he switched his bandanna for a hat. Would look cool, with his eyes covered and everything, except, will, he's Usopp. His hair is longer, which i think looks good. His has grown a goatee and some muscles. His googles are hanging on his chest, and I wonder how he's gonna wear it. I mean, isnt his nose in the way? I cant make out whether he's stupid, like chopper, and thinks the Sogeking and the Luffy are real, i mean Sogeking?, or he's just afraid of them. Nice to see he still keeps his stupid face in shock. He seems also to use new "Hissatsu" with plants from the island he was in.

Sanji - his bangs have switched sides, to reveal .....*Drumrolls*...another eye. He must have perm his eyebrow or something, since it curls towards the right side, just like his right eyebrow. Where's the symmetry. Death the Kid will probably injure Sanji badly. Facial hair here as well to give him sort of a macho look. Fits well with the cigarettes and everything else.

Chopper - not much here, he's added a underwear skull cap thingie on his head. Still the innocent looking reindeer he was 2 years ago, while technically he is 17, but...i like to think him as seven.

                                          
                                                                                      
Robin - she did away with that helmet haircut I see every other day. Yippee. Also, seems like she's undercover or something. Gives off the bond girl vibe. Probably just staying cautious, since the Marines are looking for her.

Franky - didn't see much of him, since he doesnt appear. He seems to have larger arms, spots a new hair cut, and again, new scars. And of course, he has a face again. Doing away with the terminator stuff was good. I think he should have some new tricks up his sleeve. Dr Vegapunk's tricks anyway.

Brooke - er...he became the King of Soul....music... Seems to be performing his last concert. Maybe he learnt some new music skills along the way, and hopefully opened up his eyes to the new world he's living in, having been stuck on Thriller Bark and his old ship for countless years.
