Gaming Sundays: Modern Warfare 2
Introduction
A FPS war time game. I really can't find any more words to describe this. That's all there is to the simple introduction.
Story
Set five years after the Call of Duty 4, Modern Warfare 2 takes you to a time where the Ultranationalist Party is led by one Vladimir Makarov, a lieutenant of the previous games's antagonist, Imran Zakhaev. The plot mainly follows several characters of Task Force 141, including the previous game's main protagonist, John "Soap" MacTavish. An undercover operation goes horribly wrong, and the US is attacked by the Russian Army, which in under the control of the Ultranationalist Party. The story ends with a cliffhanger much like the previous one.
By the way, you die around three times in this game, and most of the members of Task Force 141 dies as well. Sweet eh. Not the best story around, it doesn't even come close. But who plays FPS for the story? We play it for the action. For stories, please play RPGs. Though their is something about firing AT4s from the White House that makes it fun.
Gameplay
Is there really a need? Most FPS play the same. Take out your guns and go Rambo. There are a few missions that require discretion, or you will find yourself in the crosshairs the barrels of several dozen gunman. Missions like those in the Favela in Rio de Janeiro are particular hard to go through, since it's one against a hundred. But hey, you're Roach, and he can do anything (i think). There is also two or three missions where you get to drive. One with a snow mobile, the other with a boat. Although not as exciting as GTA chases, its not all that bad either.
Graphics
Superb, amazing, clear, OMG, it's quite suppose to be the same as CoD 4, but for some reason, it kinda lags for me. But I can tell it's tiptop quality when you have a bunch of friends who play games for their graphics say that its good.
Conclusion
I will recommend this game for FPS fans out there, if they havent got it already. Nice game to be played with friends. It has quite a number of downloadable maps out there (if what my friend told me is correct). I haven't really played the multiplayer modes, since I'm not much of a online gamer, and definite not a FPS professional.
PS: Is this style of writing good? It just doesnt feel kinda right. But it maybe just me...
